Guess who is ba-aaack?!

Back by unpopular demand....or something like that...

I've had conversations with some of you about this for I don't know...almost a year. I guess since I stopped writing the last time. In reality, this time, I just couldn't commit. Commit to what, you might ask? Well, for starters, the name. Silly, right? Maybe so, but I wanted something that had meaning for us but that wasn't too out there. I was also not really ready to commit to taking time out of my day to write...the responsibility of keeping up with it. It's not that I can't make time to write, it's just that I sit behind a screen all day at work and frankly, the idea of cracking open the laptop at home is just not all that exciting. However, I will say that I do see the benefit of doing this. It is for me and you. 'You' being the 3 readers I will probably have. :) Haha!

The blog name. It is pretty self explanatory. We like sand between our toes and almost every morning on the way to school we look at the sky...and generally we end up talking about it more on the days that it is so colorful. Let's not get too crazy here. I take a lot of pictures but not typically first thing in the morning; however, this is what I'm talking about....

So...there you go....two things relevant to us.  Can anyone else not believe that I can't put my hands on a picture of our sandy feet? That may not be a bad thing.

In reality, as much as I like Facebook to be able to keep up with the goings on of too many people, there is just only SO much that I care to share with them about MY life. I'm sure if you're reading this, you are one of my 'friends' (family counts in there too) in real life and possibly on FB. You'll see some randomness from our life on there, but for more than just the on-the-surface things that I post over there, I think this address will serve the role.

If you're looking for some good ole reading...my old (retired) blog can be found at the Thomas Family Diary. The last post on there was Strawberries! (For those not so technical people, click that little underlined Strawberries and it'll take you there.) It was a post about my love of strawberries and the tradition of getting K involved. He has been picking his own strawberries at our Garner Farms since he has been able to walk. This year was a little different. I was close to being devastated because the tradition would not be the same. Apparently the seeds the farm used turned out to be infected. The reports stated that they would only have about 15% of their crop this year. I'm not sure if they had any at all because the big strawberry was not up and their field grew over pretty fast. On a happier note, my parents planted a strawberry plant in their yard so I was able to snap some pictures last weekend of K picking strawberries....just in a different location. :)

Mission accomplished. Post #1 is done! More to come as I catch you up on what's been going on with us...and other ramblings....
