One of the most exciting things of the day was this on my gas pump. 

You are reading it right! Thanks to my Lowe's gas rewards, I had $0.55 off per gallon. I was almost empty and filled up for under $25. Now THAT is exciting!

We started out the day in New Bern. Poppo had his hip replaced on Friday so we thought it would be a good time to visit. K really wanted to go visit him at the hospital....so that's what we did! Poppo got a little help cleaning up and we visited for a bit. 

After New Bern we headed east because we had a mommy kiddo date at the painting studio. It was family day at the studio so the paintings went to together. I collect snowmen so I thought this would be a great one for us to do!

I didn't snap any pics today bc my camera was full. That seems to be the case a LOT! 😐

We went to Cape Fear Serpentarium in Wilmington. K loves it there. I swear this child finds the things I can't stand the most fascinating. I try not to pass my biases along but it's like he just knows. Snakes give me the heebie geebies! However...looking at them behind glass is a lot easier for me than looking at them in my backyard! K especially likes to watch feeding time there. During this visit they fed the King cobra, the Viper, the bushmaster, and some large lizards.  I will give it credit it's a pretty interesting place!

The day started out a little slow. There were some tired little ones at my house. 

Next, on the way to school K decided he needed a blanket...even though the car had been warmed up! He rode this way all the way to school.

I mentioned Ks stripe test last night. Usually we go out to dinner at this one Chinese place that K loves (and that I don't like too much) bc it's his choice. I say usually but I've lucked out once or twice by him not really feeling it. (I realize...I should have never made that deal). On our way home last night he reminded me that we were supposed to go there but since it was getting late, I told him we'd go tonight. His favorites are the 'red chicken' and the octopus sushi (I don't think it's visible in this pic though). He was pretty happy!

Today was stripe testing at Tae Kwon Do. I was not too confident that K was ready but I also didn't want to let on my feeling and didn't want to see him get behind so he tried like he normally would....and he ROCKED IT! The instructor even let K throw him down on his last self defense move. K's face was priceless ole he couldn't believe he did it. Afterward though,  K said "He let me so it. I'm not THAT strong".  It was still so cute.

It was frigid today. I know I made fun of the term ARCTIC yesterday but it was the coldest I've ever felt here. Not.a.fan!

It's going to be cold. COLD!! Ok, cold for here at least since I know I have friends in consistently colder temps. I think the weather people are taking it to the extreme though by calling this ARCTIC....arctic air and arctic blast. I mean, yes....it will be cold (at least the 'real feel') but arctic? 😊

K got this shirt for Christmas and loves it! He was excited to wear it to school today. Somehow he has it in his head that the picture on the front is a slice of pizza. I've tried to clue him in but he is insistent so I let it go. 😊
