Waiting...

We spent some time at the dr on Thursday. It was a much anticipated appt  to me because I was looking forward to the results of the hearing test I knew they would do. We got good news! Not 100% but in the normal range!

Unfortunately, we spent more time waiting for the dr than anything else. Usually I have things with us to do if I think we will be waiting. Not so much that day. I just snapped a few random pictures while we were waiting. I have a pretty entertaining subject...

He was happy at first...and then we waited...

And finally, right before the dr came in, K had turned into a human pretzel.

After our visit, he saw this tissue box at the checkout and thought it was hysterical. Seems appropriate for an ENT and allergy office. :)

Open House

I'm a little behind. With gearing up to  move, moving, and not having Internet, it has stalked progress in some areas. 

The week before last started our adventure into kindergarten!! Here is a pic from open house where K was not excited at all...as you can see. :) 

Kindergarten is a full day here and it seems like a busy one too. He starts his first full day tomorrow (Sep 3) and he is ready!

Mail call

Exciting mail! K got a letter from his kindergarten teacher today. Tomorrow we will go to Open House and meet Ms Carr and see his new classroom. :)

S day - sleepy, sea, snake, scuba, spaghetti!

Today started out kind of lazy. 

We were reading a book about sea life and K wanted to go to the aquarium. After we finished some stuff around the house, we finally headed out to the aquarium and to our seemingly daily trip to Lowe's. We picked up a friend along the way (a snake slap bracelet) that you'll see in different places in the next few pictures.

The highlight of the aquarium trip for K was finding out his karate teacher was one of the divers for the day. We knew he was a volunteer diver there but have never run into him when we have been there before. So, we ended up sticking around for the Live Dive.

And of course, he always loves the turtle exhibit! Today his turtle was being rehabilitated after a shark bite wound.

Tonight K picked dinner and wrote it on the calendar. I thought we would get the whole week planned but that didn't happen. He was proud of his day though!

Good clean fun

Well....dirty then clean. Since it was a rainy mess, we started out the day with a chore. Things like washing clothes just seem to happen without me realizing that K would like to help. Today he got that chance. He sorted everything by color (which was entertaining in itself) and started two loads fairly independently. 

Also on today's agenda was finding a lunchbox for 'big' school. He found one he liked, along with a Thermos that passed my approval (both turned out to be ninja turtle)....but then we took a turn down a different green path and found this pretty neat Hulk mask on the clearance aisle. The eyes even glow. :) The talk has been they he already knows what he's going to be for Halloween...we'll see...

I didn't snap a pic but we also had a god dinner with the Neal clan at Famous. Their gyros are great and the boys seemed to 'dig' their dinosaur nuggets. For the record, I do not like these 'see you later' meals...but I'll take what I can get and hope to see them sooner rather than later!

Sometimes K reminds me of a little old man....Bartles and James comes to mind. He had a great time whittling this stick. :)

Pirate Invasion!

This weekend was the annual Pirate Invasion in Beaufort. There were 'real' pirates, along with lots of other people dressed up in various styles of pirate garb. Here are a few shots of my little pirate.

 

All in all, it was HOT out there and hard to see, but K seemed to have a good time so that was all that mattered to me!

Feeling jerky

We were watching How Its Made one night and part of the episode highlighted jerky. K seemed interested so I told him we could get some at the store if he could remember. Sure enough, as we were in the checkout one day he saw some in the aisle so we got a bag for him to try. 

This is what I found as I finished up getting my coffee ready.

We have been on a much needed vacation! I took 719 pictures (yes, you read that right) and getting them off the camera and phone..and to my external hard drive as well as a photo site (plus organizing them) has been more challenging than I realized but I think it's almost done.
